Chemical sciences

List of authors with a Kazakhstan affiliation having the highest number of citations of their publications (articles and reviews) in Web of Science for 2021–2025, normalized per author, by the research-field classifier (data as of June 2026).

Citations of each publication are distributed among its authors: the first corresponding author (if any) and the first author receive twice as many citations as the other authors. Publications whose Scopus self-citation rate exceeds 50% are not counted.

Each author is assigned to a single second-level field (and the corresponding first-level field) according to their main area of research. For each field a score is computed as Score = «Corr/First» + 0.25 × «Total», where «Total» is the author's total number of articles and reviews in that field (from 2021 onwards) and «Corr/First» is the number of those in which the author is the first corresponding author or the first author. The field with the highest Score is taken as the main one (ties are broken by the higher «Corr/First»).

Excluded from the lists are authors for whom more than 50% of their articles with a Kazakhstan affiliation were published with a foreign affiliation indicated for that author, as well as authors who have relocated abroad, whose publications over the last 3 years mostly carry a foreign affiliation, even if over the whole period the share of such articles does not exceed 50% (by Web of Science).

Data are collected automatically (Web of Science, Scopus, InCites, SciVal, CrossRef) and may contain inaccuracies.

Up to 100 most-cited authors are shown (only authors with at least one citation).
